- In-Person: Stop by the Reference Desk on the upper level

- Book A Librarian: Make a free one hour appointment for one-on-one instructional or research assistance on using library resources. Sessions are held in the Library. Reservations require 48 hour advance notice and are dependent upon staff availability.

The Library offers a variety of free hands-on computer and technology classes to help you brush up on basic skills or Microsoft Office software. Classes are also available for LinkedIn, eBooks, and occasionally library resources such as Value Line. Learning Express Library: Training modules for basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, career test prep and writing skills. These video tutorials are interactive and free to use with your Plainfield Public Library Card.
HelpNow: an online homework help service with an Adult Learning Center that offers a writing lab. Submit writing samples or speak live with an online tutor for help with your business writing. This service is free to use with your Plainfield Public Library card.
Treehouse: Courses teach you the skills necessary to build your own websites and apps or start a business. By watching videos, building projects and getting quizzed, you’ll open up entirely new possibilities in your life. With these skills at hand you can dream big and accomplish whatever you set out to build.
Strictly Business Lunch & Learn Series: Dynamic workshops and presentations to guide small businesses in day to day operations.
The Strictly Business Lunch & Learn Series is a one hour program designed to provide useful and timely information for the local business owner. The presenters are top in their field. The topics range from writing business plans, increasing sales, product development to social marketing. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided. The Plainfield Public Library and the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce are committed to encourage local business development with the Strictly Business Lunch & Learn Series. Free Small Business Mentoring by SCORE Fox Valley
Second and Fourth Mondays, 7:00 PM: Offered by volunteers from the Fox Valley Chapter of SCORE. Space is limited and registration is required through the SCORE website. SCORE is a nationwide, non-profit organization dedicated to helping the owners of existing and start-up businesses assure that their businesses grow and prosper.
