Library to Host Programs for Money Smart Week: April 19-25

The Library will celebrate Money Smart Week from April 19-25 with several programs to help adults of all ages manage money smart weektheir personal finances.

This year, the Library will host programs about scams, student loans, retirement, divorce finances, and estate planning.

Frauds and Scams
Tuesday, April 21, 1 p.m.

Discover which types of people are scammed and how to be safe online with presenter Sasha Grabenstetter, consumer economics educator from the University of Illinois Extension. At this program, you’ll learn about popular scams and how to avoid becoming a victim.

Love Your Loan: Student Loan Repayment Webinar
Tuesday, April 21, 4 p.m.

Students and recent college graduates can participate in this webinar, featuring finance experts from any computer – either at the Library or at home.

Can You Afford to Retire?
Thursday, April 23, Noon

Financial Planner and Retirement specialist James Flannigan will provide the steps needed for a successful retirement at this program.

Gaining Financial Control of Your Divorce
Saturday, April 25, 9:30 a.m.

Financial adviser Graham Craig outlines how to avoid some of the most common financial mistakes during divorce in this program.

Estate Planning
Saturday, April 25, 11:00 a.m.

During this program, participates will learn how to be one step ahead on arranging and directing distribution of everything you own.
